Mogadishu (Isbahaysi) – The Alliance Media Network joins Somali Media and Journalists in speaking out against the violations and abuses on the media perpetrated by the Federal Government of Somalia. These abuses include information blockades and constant pressure on the independent media.
The media has the right to operate freely and without fear, as stipulated in Articles 18 and 22 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
The Alliance Media Network is concerned about the unusual restrictions and divisions imposed on the media fraternity, which particularly affect freedom of speech and the independence of the press.
The Alliance Media Network calls on the Federal Government of Somalia to respect the country’s constitution, especially the articles related to freedom of speech, democracy, and media independence.
We are committed to defending freedom of speech and the independence of the media so that the Somali public can receive accurate and balanced information.
